SUNEKOS BIO-STIMULATOR | BIRKENHEAD, AUCKLAND
If you want healthier skin quality rather than a different face, Sunekos is worth understanding.
Some clients aren’t looking for volume or dramatic change. They want skin that feels firmer, looks more hydrated, and has better underlying quality, particularly in areas like the under-eye, neck, and hands where traditional fillers aren’t always the right tool. Sunekos is designed for this. It works by supporting the skin’s own collagen and elastin activity from within, using a patented combination of hyaluronic acid and amino acids. At Jay’s Medispa in Birkenhead, every Sunekos session is administered by a Registered Nurse.

HOW SUNEKOS WORKS
Designed to support skin quality from within, not alter it from outside.
Traditional fillers add volume. They physically fill space beneath the skin. Sunekos works differently. Its formulation combines hyaluronic acid with a patented amino acid complex designed to interact with fibroblasts, the cells in the dermis responsible for producing collagen and elastin. By supporting fibroblast activity rather than adding volume, the aim is to encourage the skin’s own collagen and elastin response.
This mechanism makes Sunekos particularly suited to areas where volume is not the goal. The under-eye area, neck, décolletage, and hands, where the concern is skin quality, thinning, dehydration, or a loss of elasticity rather than a structural change.
Sunekos follows a structured protocol using both formulations in sequence. Sunekos Performa lays the foundation, followed by Sunekos 1200. Treatment areas and timing are determined at consultation through our clinical assessment, guided by the manufacturer’s defined approach. Outcomes develop gradually and vary between individuals.
Sunekos is developed by Professional Dietetics S.p.A.,
an Italian pharmaceutical company based in Milan. The formulations are used internationally and are supported by published clinical research. This is a medical device and must be administered by a healthcare professional.
Skin concerns this treatment may help with
Early fine lines and superficial texture changes
The amino acid complex is designed to support the skin’s natural collagen activity, which may contribute to gradual changes in fine line appearance.
Skin dehydration and reduced radiance
Hyaluronic acid within the formulation is designed to support skin hydration. Some clients notice changes in radiance and skin feel in the weeks following treatment.
Reduced skin firmness or elasticity
By supporting fibroblast activity, Sunekos aims to encourage the skin’s own elastin production, which may contribute to changes in skin firmness over a course of treatment.
Under-eye skin thinning or mild hollowing
Sunekos may be used around the periorbital area where the skin is delicate and traditional fillers are not always appropriate.
Neck, décolletage, and hands
Areas where skin quality concerns, including thinning, crepiness, and loss of radiance, may benefit from a bio-stimulating approach rather than volume-based treatment.
Skin affected by environmental or UV exposure
Supporting the skin’s natural collagen and elastin activity may help address some of the quality changes associated with sun exposure and environmental factors over time.
SUNEKOS PERFORMA
Foundation of skin quality
Foundation of the Sunekos protocol
Sunekos Performa combines low molecular weight hyaluronic acid with a blend of amino acids designed to support fibroblast activity and encourage the skin’s natural collagen and elastin response. It focuses on supporting skin hydration, elasticity, and overall skin quality rather than adding volume. Outcomes vary between individuals.
Suited to skin showing early thinning, dehydration, or loss of elasticity
Suited to the face, neck, hands, décolletage and under eye area
Typically delivered across a series of sessions spaced two weeks apart
Aims to support hydration, skin texture, and elasticity
SUNEKOS 1200
Enhanced hydration support
Complement to the Sunekos protocol
Sunekos 1200 contains a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid alongside the amino acid complex, designed to provide additional hydration and skin plumpness for areas showing more significant signs of skin thinning or laxity. It is typically used alongside Performa as part of the full Sunekos protocol.
Higher hyaluronic acid concentration for additional hydration support
Suited to areas with more marked skin thinning or laxity
Can be used on face, neck, décolletage, hands, and under-eye area
Usually used in combination with Sunekos Performa

POST-TREATMENT CARE
Looking after your skin after Sunekos
Following these guidelines in the days after treatment helps support your skin’s recovery and gets the most from each session.
SPF 50+ every day for 7 days
Avoid direct sun exposure for seven days and apply SPF 50+ daily. Post-treatment skin is more sensitive to UV.
No makeup for 12 hours
Avoid applying makeup for at least 12 hours post-treatment to allow the skin to settle.
Gentle cleansing and moisturising
Cleanse gently and moisturise the treated areas. Avoid harsh or active-ingredient products for at least one week.
No exercise, saunas, or heat for 48 hours
Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and hot showers for 48 hours post-treatment to minimise the risk of swelling or irritation.
Stay well hydrated
Drinking plenty of water in the days following treatment supports your skin’s natural recovery.
Contact us with any concerns
If you experience anything unexpected after treatment, call us on 09 418 0743. We would rather you check in than sit with a concern.
What to expect after treatment
Mild redness, tenderness, or swelling at the injection sites is normal and typically settles within a few hours. Bruising is possible and usually resolves within a few days. Most clients return to normal activities immediately after treatment.
Changes in skin quality develop gradually over the weeks following each session rather than appearing immediately. Most clients complete the initial course before assessing their response. Individual outcomes vary significantly and are not guaranteed.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
Anything else? Come in for a consultation and we’ll walk you through everything in person.
No. Sunekos is not a traditional dermal filler. It does not add volume to the face. Instead, it combines hyaluronic acid with a patented amino acid complex designed to support the skin’s own collagen and elastin activity from within. The aim is to improve skin quality rather than alter facial structure or volume. For clients seeking volume restoration, a different approach would be discussed at your consultation.
Most clients find Sunekos well tolerated. The injections use very fine needles and a topical numbing option is available for clients who are more sensitive. Some areas, particularly around the eyes, may feel more sensitive than others. Your nurse will discuss your comfort throughout the session.
Sunekos may be used on the full face including the under-eye area, the neck, décolletage, and hands. It is often chosen for delicate areas such as the periorbital region where traditional treatments may not always be the most appropriate approach. Which areas are suitable for your specific concern is discussed at your consultation.
A typical Sunekos protocol involves three sessions spaced approximately two weeks apart. The number of sessions depends on your skin condition and goals, which are assessed at your consultation. Maintenance sessions every six to twelve months may be appropriate for some clients depending on their response to the initial course.
Some clients notice changes in skin hydration and radiance within the first few weeks following treatment. Further gradual changes in skin texture and elasticity may develop over the following weeks as the initial course progresses. Individual response varies significantly and outcomes are not guaranteed. Most clients complete the full initial course before making an assessment of their response.
Sunekos is generally considered suitable for a range of skin types and tones. Suitability is confirmed at your consultation where your skin is properly assessed before any recommendation is made. There are contraindications that may affect suitability, including pregnancy, certain allergy histories, and active skin conditions, all of which are discussed at your consultation.
Yes. Sunekos can be combined with other treatments depending on your skin goals and the timing between appointments. It is sometimes used alongside anti-wrinkle injections, plasma facials, or other skin quality treatments. Your nurse will advise what combinations make sense for your skin and what sequencing is appropriate.
Sunekos pricing at Jay’s Medispa in Birkenhead starts from $400 for the periorbital eye area and $700 for a full face including eye area or a full neck treatment per session. A course of three sessions offers savings compared to single session pricing. Full pricing is listed on this page and is confirmed before any treatment proceeds.
