Deep cleansing technology for clearer, healthier skin.
A HydroFacial is one of the more practical skin treatments available. It combines deep cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydration in a single session using vortex-based technology and active serums. There is no recovery period, it suits most skin types, and the approach is consistent and nurse-controlled at every session. At Jay’s Medispa in Birkenhead, your nurse tailors the facial to your skin on the day, not to a fixed formula.

HOW HYDROFACIAL WORKS
Four steps. One session. No recovery.
HydroFacial uses a handheld device that moves through the skin in a consistent, controlled sequence. The vortex action simultaneously loosens and removes congestion while delivering active serums into the cleansed pores. Because the treatment device controls the process, each session is consistent regardless of skin variation.
The serum selection changes based on what your skin needs. Your nurse will assess your skin at the start of each session and adjust accordingly. This is what separates a clinical HydroFacial from a spa version of the same treatment.
Dead skin cells and surface debris are removed using the vortex tip. Skin is prepared for the steps that follow.
A gentle vacuum suction dislodges congestion from the pores. Blackheads, excess oil, and impurities are drawn to the surface and removed without squeezing or manual extraction.
Active serums are delivered into the cleansed pores through the same device. Hydrating, brightening, or corrective serums are selected based on your skin at the session.
A finishing serum and SPF protection are applied to support skin hydration and UV protection following treatment.
Skin concerns this treatment may help with
Congested or clogged pores
The extraction step is designed to clear pore congestion more effectively and consistently than manual methods, without the irritation that can follow manual extractions.
Dull or uneven skin tone
Exfoliation combined with serum infusion may help improve the appearance of skin tone and radiance over a regular course of sessions.
Fine lines and early signs of skin ageing
Hydrating serums and corrective actives delivered under the skin’s surface may contribute to improvements in fine line appearance over time. Results vary.
Oily or acne-prone skin
The treatment helps manage oil production and congestion at the pore level without the inflammation or dryness associated with many acne-focused treatments.
Dehydrated or dry skin
The serum infusion step is designed to deliver hydration directly into the skin rather than sitting on the surface, supporting longer-lasting moisture balance.
Pre-event skin preparation
With no downtime and immediate improvements in skin feel and clarity, a HydroFacial is a practical option for skin preparation before a significant event.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT
HydroFacial is designed to have no recovery period. Most clients leave the clinic with skin that feels cleaner and more hydrated than when they arrived. Some mild redness or warmth may occur and typically settles within a few hours.
The improvement in skin feel and clarity from a HydroFacial is often noticeable on the day. With regular monthly sessions, many clients notice cumulative improvements in skin tone, pore appearance, and hydration over time. Individual response varies and results are not guaranteed.
If you are booking a HydroFacial before an event, we recommend scheduling it at least three to five days beforehand rather than the day before, to allow any mild initial redness to fully settle and to ensure you are seeing the full effect on the day.
RESULTS DSICLAMER
Results from HydroFacial treatments vary depending on individual factors including skin type and condition, the concern being addressed, the tier and serums selected, and the regularity of sessions. Outcomes are not guaranteed and individual results will differ. All treatment decisions are made by a Registered Nurse based on your skin at each appointment.

No. HydroFacial is designed to have no recovery period and most clients return to normal activities immediately. Some mild redness or warmth may occur and typically settles within a few hours. If you are booking before an event, we recommend booking three to five days before rather than on the day.
Monthly sessions are a practical starting point for most clients. The right frequency depends on your skin goals, skin condition, and how your skin responds between sessions. Your nurse will discuss what makes sense for you based on what they see at your appointment.
HydroFacial is generally well tolerated by most skin types including sensitive skin, because the device action is controlled and the serum choice is adjusted to your skin. If you have a specific skin condition or sensitivity, discuss this at your consultation before booking so we can assess what adjustments may be appropriate.
A HydroFacial uses a specialised device that combines exfoliation, extraction, and serum infusion in one controlled process rather than relying on manual technique alone. The vortex action is consistent and nurse-controlled at each session. Serums are delivered into the pore rather than sitting on the skin surface. The result is a more controlled, repeatable outcome compared with manual facial techniques. It also has no downtime, which a more intensive clinical facial may not.
Many clients notice that their skin feels cleaner and more hydrated immediately after treatment. For ongoing concerns like congestion, uneven tone, or fine lines, improvement tends to accumulate across regular monthly sessions rather than appearing after a single treatment. Individual response varies and outcomes are not guaranteed.
